How To Choose a Twitter Username Wisely
If you haven’t signed-up for Twitter, I would suggest you do that first. The process is simple, but you may want to give some thought to choosing a USERNAME and how you want to use it. For example, I have a couple of twitter accounts.
I’m a graphic designer and techie geek. If you are interested in conversations about design and technology, you can follow @Tywebbin.
I have another side of my online life that is more about writing and books. The “tweets” I post are not necessarily interesting to those who follow me on @Tywebbin. So, if you are into writing, publishing and literary trends, latest book releases – I welcome you to follow me at @tyoramoody. I use this account more for personal stuff too.
My other main account is @tcblogtours. One of the services I provide is online book promotion, so this account is about connecting with bookworms and potential readers for my author clients.
I know you are thinking, so how do you manage three accounts? I will let you know in a couple of weeks.
In the meantime, be sure to think about your username and make sure it reflects (1) Your brand and (2) Your purpose.
Since most of my clients are authors, I highly recommend using your name as the USERNAME. Name already taken. Don’t Panic. Be creative. See examples below.

- http://www.twitter.com/authorjanedoe (creative)

I’m going to admit to you that the next few weeks will be a refresher course for me. Feel free to add questions to the comment sections and I will do my best to make sure to respond quickly.
